Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (sometimes referred to as Eucharistic Ministers) are members of the parish who assist with the distribution of the Eucharist.  Priests and deacons are Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.  In a parish the size of Saint Mary, the priest requires the assistance of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to help with the distribution of both the Body and Blood of Christ at both weekend and weekday Masses.

To serve in this ministry, one must:

Be at least 16 years of age
Have received all three sacraments of initiation (Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation)
Be living one’s life in accordance with the laws of the Church.

If you wish to consider this ministry, please check the box below to contact Deacon Mike Brown:

Some Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion bring the Blessed Sacrament to those who are ill.  If you are interested in that ministry, look for “Sick and Shut-in Ministry” under “Community Outreach” at the Parish “Ministries” button.
